The Madrevite Winery in Castiglione del Lago wins the first Gambero Rosso “Three glasses” in its history with C’OSA2019. “Back in 2003 – explains Nicola Chiuchiurlotto, owner of the company – we set ourselves a goal: to produce honest, personal wines that breathe the breath of the earth. From the very beginning – he adds – our favorite son was Gamay del Trasimeno, already in itself, a puzzle of names, crossings and origins: a real challenge. Our C’OSA Gamay, stands for “Who dares”. And the courage, in fact, the young entrepreneur from Trasimeno is not lacking, so much so that he recently jumped to the news also for another success achieved with the original formula of the “Picconicco”, an event organized during the summer weekends, which in in a short time it has become a cool event for thousands of people who are passionate about wine and postcard sunsets.

Borderland “We are grateful to those who believed in us – he adds – to those who were part of the team and raced with us towards the finish line, to those who gave us the right reasons to go forward: my daughter and my family”. Today Madrevite is a company of about 60 hectares, 11 of which are vineyards, 5 of olive groves, small parts of wood and the rest of arable land. Vineyards lying on the hills that embrace Lake Trasimeno and that of Chiusi, in that borderland located between Umbria and Tuscany, capable of making Gamay del Trasimeno great, but also Trebbiano Spoletino, Grechetto, Sangiovese and Syrah: real interpreters of a strong identity heritage that makes Umbria wine great.
